Color glitter paper to match Tim Holtz Distress Inks

Experimenting and thinking out of the box is so much fun!  Something was "cooked" up this evening.  First things first, if you want to try this technique, I recommend doing in a well ventilated space, and only use Doodle Bug Designs Sugar Coating Glitter paper (Recollections glitter card stock is not recommended). Supplies: Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Glaze Doodle Bug Designs Sugar Coating Glitter paper Tweezers Coffee filter, copier paper, or tray to collect embossing powder Heat tool Heat resistant working surface Dies cuts (optional) Versamark Watermark Ink Stamp Pad Apply Versamark ink to the glittered side of the cardstock.   Coat generously with dry embossing powder, put embossing powder back in the container and cover to avoid the powder blowing everywhere. 😁 Using tweezers, hold the card stock and apply heat with heat tool to melt the embossing powder. Let cool and cut Super duper easy.   Let me know if you try this and what you think.  I am digging it.  Best of all

Learning, evolving, and self kindness...

We are changing our platform a little today, but I think it is imperative that we remember to be kind to our creative self especially when are learning something new or hit a creative roadblock.  Learning how to paper craft comes with some challenges and can take some time to learn/master.  I was reminded of this recently when my mom shared some photos of cards I made for her over 10 years ago.  During that time, I was a novice card maker, and not all of my creations were, what I considered, spectacular.  Even now, I make cards, that I am just not feeling.  Can you relate?   I realized not all of the cards have to be "the one", and that I might not appreciate some of my work, but others do, and I remind my inner critic to be kind.   While the evolution of the paper crafting industry has made a profound and positive impact to my creations, so has practice.  I also think it is important to remember that most designers make mistakes and have oops moments, which are not typically

Oops.... Plus a quick video tutorial

Oops, I completely forgot to make a post last night to be released first thing this morning.  Have no fear, I have a lovely minute and a half video tutorial showing you how to use watercolors and clear dry embossing powder.  There are a little more details provided  here , or  you watch the video below. Here are some images of the final card created with the technique. The final product is a lot of fun, and I love the texture that is on the water color paper.  What technique(s) would you like to see?  Are you going to try this?  If you do, please share. -Happy Crafting!

Easy to create backgrounds

Looking to use up some of your extra strips of colored cardstock? I love the look of using strips of coordinating cardstock as a background. Check out the quick video tutorial on how to make your own back ground. You can also use the panel for die cuts. 😀                                              Get the look Cut or gather strips of coordinating cardstock. Another option is to color your white cardstock strips with ink. FYI: there are a couple of ways to adhere the strips, but I prefer to use the tape runner for adding the paper. Supplies: Tape runner (the preferred method): run adhesive from your tape runner over the entire base of paper Liquid adhesive: dispenses liquid adhesive on the backside of each strip Double sided tape: adhere a sheet of double sided tape to the front of the entire sheet of cardstock. Copier paper Cut strips of paper Paper scrapper (optional) Die cut (optional) Instructions: Cut a piece of copier paper or cardstock for your base panel Cover the c
