Learning, evolving, and self kindness...

We are changing our platform a little today, but I think it is imperative that we remember to be kind to our creative self especially when are learning something new or hit a creative roadblock.  Learning how to paper craft comes with some challenges and can take some time to learn/master.  I was reminded of this recently when my mom shared some photos of cards I made for her over 10 years ago.  During that time, I was a novice card maker, and not all of my creations were, what I considered, spectacular.  Even now, I make cards, that I am just not feeling.  Can you relate?

I realized not all of the cards have to be "the one", and that I might not appreciate some of my work, but others do, and I remind my inner critic to be kind.

While the evolution of the paper crafting industry has made a profound and positive impact to my creations, so has practice.  I also think it is important to remember that most designers make mistakes and have oops moments, which are not typically captured in the videos and posts we ingest, but it happens to all of us.  It is all a learning experience.  Our work evolves with practice, and it is supposed to be enjoyable.

The point is, keep creating and learning.  Don't let the inner critic steer you away from crafting.  Even it you aren't consistently producing the results you want, you are learning and progressing.

Please comment and/or share one of your first projects, it is fun to travel down memory lane from time to time. 😀😀😀😀

Happy Crafting!
